Registration
A library card is required, if you wish to borrow and reserve material on this website from outside the Library.
- A library card is issued at the circulation desk. Please provide personal identification. (an identification card, such as a health insurance card, a driver's license, an alien registration card, and a student identification card, etc.)
- A library card is free to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Fukui City.
- You can use a common "Library card" at Siritsu library, Midori library, Sakuragi library, and the bookmobile.
- A library card can be made for a newborn baby.

Borrowing
Please bring the materials and your library card.
- Limit on the number of items : 10 items (all materials- books, periodicals, CDs, etc.)
- Checkout Period :2 weeks(When you borrow from the book mobile, you can keep materials until the book mobile's visit.)
- How to Renew
Basically, renewal can be made only once for another 2 weeks. Bring the materials back to the Library with your library card, and ask to renew them.- Renewals are not be allowed when the book has been reserved for another reader.
- Renewals by telephone is also acceptable, if the materials fill the terms and conditions above. Please make inquiries about it.
- Non-circulation Material includes newspapers, the newest issues of periodicals, LDs, and materials which are labelled 『館内』『R』『H』.
And they cannnot be checked out.
(※You can borrow Kamishibai, CDs, and all but the latest periodicals.)

Returning
Please return materials to the library return counter. A library card is not necessary.
- You can returned the materials to the counter of any library establiched by Fukui city, which are Fukui Shiritsu Library, Midori Library, Sakuragi Library, Shimizu Library, Miyama Library, Koshino Library.
- When the library is closed, please use a book drop near the front of the library building(CDs, cassette tapes, and large sized books should be returned to the counter).

How to Find Materials
Please use the computers to find and place holds on books, CDs and other library materials. You will access a database of the collections of Siritsu Library, Midori Library, and Sakuragi Library. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please ask the librarians.
- There are also a large amount of materials in the closed stacks. If you cannnot find what you want, please ask the librarians.
- When you find what you want in the closed stacks, please fill out a form with the necessary information, and show it to a staff member.

Sorry, there are pages written in Japanese only, but it is no problem to type in your search terms in English. If you can read Japanese, give it a try.

Copy service
A member of the staff will make photocopies as far as copyright laws allow. Apply at the circulation desk. The documents could be limited to the collection of this library.
- Please get an application form at the circulation desk, fill it out, and bring it to the the desk.
- There is a charge for photocopying of \20 per a sheet(all sizes)

Reservation(Request for purchase of a book)
When you want a book which has been checked out or cannot be found, you can reserve it.
Using an OPAC terminal or confirming at the circulation counter, please fill out a reservation form with the necessary information, and take it to the circulation counter. When the book becomes available, we'll send a postcard or e-mail.

- The limit for newer periodicals is 3 volumes.(The newer periodicals can be checked out once the latest issue is entered into the collection.)
- Request for purchase of audiovisual materials, such as CDs cannot be accepted.

Attentions
The library is managed smoothly through the cooperation of all users. Please mind your manners there, and facilitate a comfortable atmosphere.
- Material in the library is a valuable property of Fukui city. Please use meterials carefully so that it is neither stained nor damaged.
- Be quiet in a library. (Please set your mobile phone or PHS to SILENT MODE before you enter the Library and refrain from talking)
- Food, beverages, and smoking are not permitted inside the Library buildings except at an appointed place.
- There are a wheelchair and magnifying glasses. Please contact the circulation counter.
- Don't let your valuables out of your sight.
